Day 1. Airport– Tirana
Pick up at Tirana Airport and transfer to the hotel, you can rest and accommodate. After that, we get to know a little bit the history of Albania, and what we will do on our time here.
First visit is at the attraction of Bunkart 2, created during the communism time to protect the leaders from a possible invasion and explore the city center.
The Evening is free to spend as desired, but we recommend taking a look around the center of Tirana, the Skanderbeg square, as the vital part of the city.
Day 2. Tirana – Kruja – Durres – Tirana
After Breakfast we will depart for Kruja small town perched high on a hill close to Tirana. It was the center of Albanian resistance against the Turks under our national hero Skanderbeg who kept them from crossing into Western Europe for 25 years, thus earning the title “Champion of Christ” awarded by the pope. You will visit the Skanderbeg Museum, Ethnographic Museum and the Old Bazaar full of traditional souvenirs. Have a characteristic Albanian lunch in Kruja. After lunch, we continue our tour to Durres, one of the oldest Albanian cities established in 627 B.C. as a Greek colony named Epidamnus. Visit the Amphitheatre situated in a central quarter and Archaeological Museum. In the afternoon return to Tirana.
Except the culture, we’ll get to have a little fun and taste some good Albanian traditional food and homemade wine on one of the wine shops.
The evening is free, but whoever that wants, can join the tour during the “Blloku” area.
Day 3. Hotel – Airport
In the morning, free to explore museums and sites of interest until time of transfer to airport. In case your arrival flight schedule does not permit the visits on the first day, they will be included in today’s agenda.
