The airport is located in the province of Varese, one of the twelve provinces of the region Lombardy, northwest of the city. You can reach Milan Malpensa Airport via exit ‘Marcallo Mesero’ of the A4 motorway and exit ‘Busto Arsizio’ of the A8 motorway.
Milan Malpensa Airport consists of Terminal 1 (A, B, C) and Terminal 2, the latter is only used by low-cost carrier.
To transfer between both terminals there is a free shuttle bus running 24 hours a day, travel time is 15 minutes.

Train transportation – Malpensa Express (Milan)
It’s easy to travel by train towards Milan, Malpensa Express of Trenord offers railway connections to the stations Milano Cadorna and Milano Centrale. The train to and from Milano Cadorna departs twice an hour, the journey time is 43 minutes from T2 and 37 minutes from T1. On its way the trains stops at the stations of Busto Arsizio Nord, Saronno and Milano Nord Bovisa. The train to and from Milano Centrale departs also two times per hour, a train ride to the main railway station takes 58 minutes from Terminal 2 and 52 minutes from Terminal 1. Trains to and from Milano Centrale always stop at Milano Porta Garibaldi, this is after Centrale and Cadorna Milan’s main train station. What you might not know, railway station Milano Cadorna is closer to the city centre than railway station Milano Centrale. Tickets are on sale at the stations and online through the website of Malpensa Express. The prices are listed below, a return ticket must be used within 30 days. A family ticket costs € 33.00 and can be used by 2 adults and 2 children from 5 up to 17 years.
Bus transportation – Terravision (Milan)
If you arrive at Terminal , you can choose to travel by bus of Terravision towards Milan. This is cheaper than taking the train Malpensa Express. On average every 20 minutes from 05.05 to 00.10 hours a Terravison bus leaves from Terminal 1 to Milan’s central station, via Terminal 2. The journey time from the airport to railway station Milano Centrale is 50 minutes from T1 and 40 minutes from T2. Tickets are available through the website of Terravision, children up to 4 years of age can travel for free. Do you want to visit Fiera Milano Rho or Fiera Milano City then it is better to get on the Malpensa Shuttle, this bus service offers rides to and from both exhibition venues in Milan.

The airport is served by a fleet of dedicated airport taxis, the flat rate airport fare for a taxi to Milan is € 90. A taxi to the exhibition venue Fiera Milano Trade Fair (Rho) is slightly cheaper and costs € 65.
